About Circling Seattle Sports
Things for Circling Seattle Sports began when Charles Hamaker recorded a podcast episode about the Seattle Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night football in December of 2019. It was just supposed to be a final project submission, complete with tacky sound bites and “Deep stats.” From there, Charles had the idea “what if I continued this and talked about what the big outlets aren’t?”
That is when the idea of Circling Seattle Sports was born, with the goal of actually covering every single professional sports team in Seattle. Slowly the teams were added, finally having every team added in late 2021 with the addition of the Seawolves. Over the course of 2020 and 2021, the podcast itself continued, adding interviews with Seattle area athletes and staff to the rotation.
In Spring of 2021, Charles received his first ever media credential, covering the OL Reign Challenge Cup match against the Chicago Red Stars by writing his notes in a notebook and then waiting till he got home to type them. In the fall of 2021, Charles was offered partnership with Converge Media to cover professional sports on the outlet. The rest is history, as now Charles is the lead editor of all blogs that CSS puts out and “Circling Seattle Sports on Converge Media” is one of the top shows on their Converge’s YouTube channel.
Circling Seattle Sports now proudly produces a weekly podcast, a weekly in-studio show, articles, social media posts, interviews and more covering the sports teams that call Seattle home. No other outlet can say that they do the same, not those who call themselves “Seattle sports,” local news outlets, or those on social media. You can find representatives of Circling Seattle Sports at every live pro team event in Seattle. You won’t find anyone else more dedicated to this cities teams.
