Mariners split series with Twins behind Kirby’s masterclass and homers from Hernandez, Ford
The Seattle Mariners split their four-game set with the Minnesota Twins in the middle of a ten-game homestand behind another masterclass outing from right-hander George Kirby and aided by two homers. Seattle looked like the winning version of themselves, something that we hadn’t seen in the past two games.

Mariners hold on late, avoiding collapse, in 7-6 series opening win over Twins
To open their four game series against the Minnesota Twins, the Seattle Mariners survived a ninth inning scare with a 7-6 victory. Seattle’s 7 runs over three innings seemed like more than enough, but a three-run homer made things a bit tense with two outs in the top of the ninth.
