Top takeaways from the Seattle Kraken season opening home loss to the St. Louis Blues on October 8th, 2024
Our Seattle Kraken began their 2024-25 campaign with a frustrating defeat at the hands of the St. Louis Blues at Climate Pledge Arena, as what seemed to be an exciting second period quickly flipped with a lapse in time where the Kraken were caught sleeping and the Blues took advantage. Here are a few takeaways from the game from Silvia-Leija Rosas.
Turbulent second period sees Kraken blow two goal lead to Blues and ultimately fall in season opener
The Seattle Kraken opened the 2024-25 season, the fourth season overall for the franchise, with plenty of excitement and activity leading up to puck drop, and that seemed to carry into the game as they had a two-goal early into the second period. That positive momentum and energy didn't carry throughout the rest of the game as Seattle gave up three unanswered goals in the same frame and couldn't fight back.

Returning home from a road trip to kick things off after the All-Star break, the Seattle Kraken began a six-game homestand with an overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings that was well within their hands to win. The Kraken overcame a goal deficit on three separate occasions, but couldn't score a winner.
Kraken get back on track with 6-2 victory over the Blackhawks, as team looks to start getting healthier
The Seattle Kraken snapped their four-game losing streak, as Vince Dunn returned to the lineup and the team put up six goals on the visiting Chicago Blackhawks. Goaltender Joey Daccord, making his 17th start in the past 19 games, remained rock solid while Tomas Tatar led the way with two goals in the victory.
Kraken dominate battle of the Sea with 7-1 victory over Sharks
Against a struggling Sharks team on the day before American Thanksgiving, the Kraken handled business and dominated San Jose from the start. That included a four-goal first period, and Seattle nearly shutout the Sharks had it not been for a Mike Hoffman goal in the latter half of the third period.
Kraken continue crunch time woes, as they remain winless at home against the Flames
The Seattle Kraken went to overtime yet again, this time falling in frustrating fashion to the Calgary Flames. Seattle had a strong second period push but couldn't maintain it through the third period and ultimately saw this game get away from them.
Seattle Kraken Morning Skate notes: November 16th, 2023
Following last night’s overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers and ahead of tonight’s contest against the New York Islanders, the second game of a back-to-back, the Seattle Kraken had an optional morning skate that had a limited turnout up at the Kraken Community Iceplex.
The good, the bad, and the ugly: Notes from the Seattle Kraken loss against the Colorado Avalanche, November 13th, 2023
The Seattle Kraken showed a solid effort in the first period and got a strong performance from Joey Daccord, but the negatives continue to show up and were especially highlighted against a talented Colorado Avalanche team.
Avalanche bury fast start from Kraken, Colorado beats Seattle 4-1
The Seattle Kraken, fresh off a disappointing and frustrating loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday followed up by an intense practice, dropped a dud against the Colorado Avalanche despite a strong first period start for the home side.

Kraken land the first punch, but Panthers claw their way to victory
Call me a broken record, but yet again the Seattle Kraken have lost in frustrating fashion, getting a hot start before things crumbled down halfway through the second period. This time, a bizarre puck bounced resulted in the game winning goal for the Florida Panthers.

The Seattle Kraken came out strong against the Carolina Hurricanes out on the road, but failed to properly close out the game as the Kraken fell in overtime to only collect the one point. Goaltender Joey Daccord was a major bright spot in a very bizarre game.
Kraken swallowed by storm in overtime loss to Hurricanes
