Velocity volley breaks Ballard FC’s hearts in U.S. Open Cup debut
Ballard FC was the more dominating attacking side through the large majority of the match, but couldn’t find the final ball to hit the back of the net. A rocket of a goal by the Spokane Velocity off a long throw in the 96th minute stole the show and saw Spokane advance.

Ahead of their 2024 season that will see them play their home matches at Memorial Stadium and defend their USL League Two title, Ballard FC has appointed former Seattle Sounders FC defender and longtime MLS veteran James Riley as the third head coach in club history.
