A bizarre night was had for the Seattle Mariners as they played their second game of the series against the Oakland Athletics, as Seattle wound up losing three starters (including starting pitcher George Kirby) to illness/injury, two of those coming before first pitch even occurred.

Seattle was pushed by starter Logan Gilbert’s strong eight-inning outing, and first baseman Ty France’s two-homer game. The Mariners begin their ten-game homestand on a four-game winning streak.
