Pre-Spring Training meeting: Excitement remains present as Mariners prepare to build off historic 2022 season
On Wednesday, February 1st, the Seattle Mariners held their Pre-Spring Training media event. Various front office members, coaches, and players spoke to the local media about things such as promotions, the 2023 All-Star week, player updates, this upcoming season, and much more.
Growing the game with everyone in mind: EL1 and the Mariners collaborate to launch the “Mariners Training Center”
During the Mariners’ Pre-Spring Training Media Event the organization announced that in partnership with EL1, they were launching the “Mariners Training Center.” Spanning five of EL1’s facilities across the state of Washington, the goal of this collaboration is to expand equitable access and participation in youth baseball and softball.
Seattle Thunderbirds wrangle the Broncos in 4-2 victory over Swift Current
The Seattle Thunderbirds were able to get past an early opposing goal and the potential of a late comeback, as newly minted captain Lucas Ciona lead the charge with two goals in the victory.
Kraken dismantle Bluejackets in 3-1 victory to head into All-Star break on a high note
In their final game before the All-Star break, the Seattle Kraken were able to handily dismantle the Columbus Blue Jackets. Resulting in a 3-1 score, Seattle hardly ever had resistance to manage as the Kraken got scoring contributions from Morgan Geekie, Alex Wennberg, and Eeli Tolvanen while Philipp Grubauer was again solid in net.

In a clash of Cascadia rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds fell to the visiting Portland Winterhawks by three goals in a 5-2 defeat. With the win, Portland takes over the top spot in the WHL’s Western Conference

In their second to last game before the All-Star break, the Seattle Kraken looked like the ones who were gassed as they fall by a three goal margin to a Calgary Flames team that was on the second game of a back-to-back
Kraken catch their “white whale,” obliterating Canucks 6-1
For the first time in their existence, the Seattle Kraken were finally able to best the Vancouver Canucks, annihilating their neighbors to the North by a score of 6-1. Five Kraken skaters scored a goal and ten of them recorded a point in the historic victory.

A playoff-like atmosphere filled Climate Pledge Arena as the Seattle Kraken played host to the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Colorado and Seattle battled hard, trading near miss opportunity through three periods and overtime, but the Kraken ultimately succumbed to the Avalanche in a shootout.

In their first home game of the year of 2023, the Seattle Thunderbirds were able to ride out an early storm to chase the Lethbridge Hurricanes away, winning on a penalty shot in overtime. Forward Reid Schaefer played the hero, scoring the game tying and game winning goals.

In another battle with one of the NHL’s top teams, the Seattle Kraken yet again came out victorious as the New Jersey Devils entered the deep for a battle of the cryptids. Kraken forward Ryan Donato lead the way with two goals, before Andre Burakovsky nailed the game winner in overtime.
Kraken win streak fizzles out in loss to Lightning
In their first game home since New Years Day, the Seattle Kraken saw their eight-game winning streak end at the hands of the mighty Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay was able to take advantage of two errors by the Kraken, while Seattle looked burnt out offensively.

To begin the year of 2023, the Seattle Kraken were able to play sound, simple hockey for a full 60 minutes to topple the New York Islanders by a score of 4-1.
Kraken end 2022 with crude, nightmarish blowout loss to Oilers
The Seattle Kraken were embarrassed on home ice by division rival, the Edmonton Oilers. Seattle was hit in the mouth early, blowing three defensive assignments in under four minutes that resulted in three goals. The Kraken were never able to recover.

The Seattle Kraken fell to the Calgary Flames in a tight, grinding divisional matchup. The Kraken drop the first game of a three-contest homestand, before the time begins a rough month of January to begin the year of 2023.
Kraken make Blues face the music in convincing 5-2 win
In the second game of their short homestand, the Seattle Kraken scored a symphony of goals against the St. Louis Blues. Seattle’s three goal second period gave the Kraken a 4-goal lead that they would never look back from.
