In the third homestand of the 2023 season, the Seattle Mariners hosted the two Texas based teams at T-Mobile Park for a somewhat brief stretch. It was an even split of the six games, with the Mariners getting an impressive series win over the Astros while narrowly losing the series to the Rangers.
Mariners drop series against Rangers as comeback attempt falls short
Mariners dropped the rubber match against the Rangers and lost their first series at home against Texas since 2019. Starting pitcher Luis Castillo hit some bumps in the game, while the Mariners bats failed to complete a late inning comeback.

Mariners shutout big Rangers bats behind Kirby’s K’s
The Mariners were able to shutout the hot bats of the Rangers, collecting a victory behind starting pitcher George Kirby's strong performance. Kirby went seven scoreless innings, while the Seattle bats were able to push five runs across the plate including Tom Murphy's two-run blast.

Mariners drop game one to Rangers despite Gilbert’s hot start
The Seattle Mariners, fresh off of a big series win against the Houston Astros, once again failed their starting pitcher as they only plated one for Logan Gilbert to drop game one. Ty France’s early solo homer got things going early, and Gilbert pitched an excellent game, but the mariners bats couldn’t get it done the rest of the way.
